Calgary’s underground Flamenco Artists come out to the foreground. Annette Morcos and Salero Caló Flamenco group have entertained Calgary audience in well over 25 Tablao style Flamenco performances since August 2003 at their home venue, the Village Cantina, and at the Latin Corner Restaurant.  The group was invited to perform at the 2004 Latin Expo Festival, at Olympic Plaza Cultural district’s First Thursday event, and the Multicultural Food Fest, amongst others.  They also performed at the 2003 Medicine Hat Jazz Fest.

On March 5, 2005, Annette Morcos will be presenting her second Flamenco concert ‘Ritmos y Sonidos’ (the first being ‘Spain meets Canada in El concierto Flamenco’ that took place in August 2003). The performance will be held at the Orpheus Theatre at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, 1301 – 16^thAvenue NW, at 8:00 pm.
